    Summary

    On a night on patrol like so many others, Batgirl rescues a Catholic priest from a pair of thieves-- then is intrigued when he pleads she show them mercy and asks what she believes in. No one has ever suggested faith play a role in Cassandra Cain's life before, and, moved by his compassion, she feels compelled to learn of his ideals.
    At the same time, she is beset by evils and challenges from without and within Christianity. New enemies are faced, friendships are tested, and, perhaps for the first time in her life, romance appears from somewhere unexpected. Through all of this remains the question: "What is this faith? And could it finally be the key to forgiving and loving myself?"
    So goes the life-changing religious odyssey of Cassandra Cain.
    (Inspired by the unused "Angel of the Bat" pitch by Gail Simone.)

    This long multi-chapter fic was written more than two years ago. My writings evolved a lot since then, so please be kind and remember that! Nevertheless, it was a massive project and is the Batgirl teamup that DC could never be bothered to have. In light of how Cass and Steph and Babs and the Batgirl legacy have been completely screwed over by the reboot, I'm more fond of it than ever.

    Fighting a time traveling villain out to destroy all Batgirls in existence, Stephanie Brown has to team up with Cassandra and Barbara of the past to save the world. On the way, the three of them have to cope with what it REALLY means to be Batgirl...
