Summary
Crow knows all about keeping people at arm's length; he’s been doing it since he was rezz’d. He can’t risk letting people in, letting people see the shadow of who he used to be.
Most people have forgotten the name Uldren Sov, but not Crow.
How could he, when he still woke up to the sound of a single shot being fired from a Hand Cannon?
Opening his own coffee shop seemed like a good way to give back to the City, and for the most part, he felt fulfilled with his work.
Until one morning, Cayde-6 walked through the doors. He’s cocky and self-assured, and their banter comes as easily to Crow as breathing. But that’s all it is. All it ever could be.
Crow already knows how it will end. Because Cayde doesn’t know the truth…he can't know.

Summary
“You’re not busy Cayde, so stop pretending to look through the weapon caches. I’m here to talk to you about my pa—”
“Yes! I know!” He threw up his arms helplessly. “Your past, your past…that’s all you ever want to talk about. Look, kid…You got something special. You got something people almost never get.”
“And what’s that?”
“A second chance.” Finally at this Crow dropped his folded arms, his body language shifting. “You’re wastin’ it by trying to figure out what you did with the first one.”
“Would you at least explain why…You won’t tell me?”
Cayde looked deep in thought about this, as if carefully considering his words before he spoke again. “You have to make your own fate, Crow. Walk your own path. Nothin’ in your past is gonna help you do that.”
“You were in my past. You helped me.”
“Yes, and I’m helping you now. In the present. Where it matters.” Cayde sighed and walked up to Crow, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Please let it go. Trust me on this.”

Summary
Summary: “Life’s still all about that timing, huh?”
Cayde continues to struggle with his feelings towards the man who killed him. The man he might be falling in love with. The man he’ll have to leave behind when all this is over with. Under the starless sky of the Traveler, in their single tent Cayde allows himself to let go. Just once. Yeah, so what the galaxy was ending. When wasn’t it ending? Was it so wrong for him to indulge in a little comfort? A little companionship?
Especially when he could practically see the end of his legacy laid out before him in all its Traveler-given glory. If this was truly the end of the line for him, if there was nothing left once this was over…
Then fuck it.

Summary
A single frame frozen in time. It was the moment Cayde had summoned Sundance. He could see her faint outline, half-warped away already, the projectile tearing through the space she had occupied not even a millisecond before.
"In every other timeline, you and your Ghost die." Queen Mara said. "Out of millions of realities, they all end the same. Except this one. Doesn't it make you curious, Cayde-6? Doesn't it make you wonder why?"
"The Traveler wanted me to live." He didn't believe the words, but maybe she'd buy them.
"Even you don't think you're that special." She scoffed. It had been worth a shot. "I have seen into your futures, Cayde-6. Every path, every choice leads you right back to my brother and this very moment at The Prison of Elders. Your fates are bound together, like two black holes caught in each other’s pull. The gravity between you is inevitable—drawing closer, tighter—until one finally consumes the other."
"I assume you mean Uldren killing me."
"Yes. Your Final Death was always his to take. It's his legacy."
"But not this time." He clarified as he pointed at the frozen scene in front of them. "Which means something changed. Something...Or someone wanted me here."

Summary
He wades in it now, eyes still open, fixed on the speckled ceiling, begging himself not to crave bomb blasts and artillery fire in his childhood bedroom. Although…there might be something beautiful about it all, Johnny supposes, those noises in the thick. The gasps in between discharge that say: I’m here, I’m a part of this song too.
After a near-fatal injury, John MacTavish finds himself back in his hometown in Scotland. Fresh off an untimely discharge, he's forced to cope with disability, his dysfunctional family, and the lingering knowledge that there are some things he's just not ready to leave behind...
