He then noticed a speck of dirt on Ren’s cheek, so he dipped the cloth in water again, and wiped it off. Now that he looked at him properly, he did look a big mess. He brushed away the long hair that fell on his face, and found more blood, left from the dripping crown. He didn’t rinse enough; a drop of water traveled down Ren’s face, down his cheek, barely brushing by his mouth. It looked like he’d been crying. And without thinking, Martyn’s hand went to brush it away.
Ren’s eyes shot open, and Martyn pulled his hand away as if he’d been burned.

Louis' been kicked out of his village, and now walks into the Oakhurst ruin to finish his transition before heading towards the Capital with a brand new identity that matched his comfort.
However, when he arrives and finds quite a few people in the town, it throws a wrench in his plans.
Well, at least, his new roommate seems to be quite kind and understanding. And sure, there's a random guy that keeps staring at him in the street, but what harm could he do? It's not like he's a vampire, or whatever it is the other townsfolk seem to be yelling about...
OR, reincarnated pre-transition Louis walks into Oakhurst and fucks everything up.

Summary
The smell reached him before the sight did, smoke, sharp and bitter, laced with something older than fire. By the time Legundo saw the castle, it was already burning. Holy water hissed in the air, the night itself turning against him. And through the flames, he saw Owen, crawling, burning, still reaching.
He should’ve stayed back. He didn’t.
Later, when Martyn faced him at the treeline, sword slick with ash, Legundo’s voice came out quiet, almost gentle:
“You should start running.”

"Won't that hurt you?" He asked, obviously worried at the prospect. He didn't want to hurt Louis. He might rather starve than the prospect.
"If it's fangs that pierce the skin, no it doesn't." Louis looked away for a moment before he lifted his wrist up. "Technically anywhere works, but I think it'll be best for this first time for you to drink from my wrist."
Owen stared at the wrist held out in front of him. Looked at the bit of pale unblemished skin that was showing. At Louis’s smooth skin that he had gotten the pleasure of feeling on his own.
He would have to lean forward more onto Louis’s lap to bite into the offered flesh.
His fangs extended down and he thought he was starting to salivate.

He watched Owen hesitate for a moment, and then the world slowed down. Legs felt his nerves light on fire as a razor-sharp gaze flicked from his eyes, to his lips, and back. Slowly, fingers came up and settled on his mouth, barely grazing the skin and yet burning him all the same. Even pinned under those gorgeous eyes, fingers on his lips, he didn’t realize what Owen wanted from him for a few long, tense seconds. Forgive him, he could hardly think about anything other than that piercing look in the others’ eyes. But when it finally clicked for him, his breath hitched.
“You can refuse, of course. There are other things you could trade.” Owen said quietly, as if speaking too loud would shatter the moment, shatter this feeling. “But I want…”
Legs almost laughed at the ridiculousness of the statement. “Refuse you? Of course not,” he said without thinking.OR
Owen and Legs have a Discussion and make another Deal, which quickly devolves into them making out to avoid talking about Owen's issues.
