Summary
November 1983. Between unpaid bills, the supposedly straight jock he’s seeing, and letters from his convict dad, seventeen year old Eddie Munson’s got enough to worry about. But when Will Byers goes missing, it sparks a chain of events that will show there are more depths to Hawkins — and to certain people in it, like infamous Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington — than he realizes.
/ or, the excessively long slow-burn in which Eddie is involved in the Upside Down from the very beginning.

Summary
“Your heart’s racing,” Steve noted, quietly.
Eddie laughed. It was more of a shaky exhale, lashes fluttering as he struggled to keep his composure. “Stevie,” he whispered, fingers cradling Steve’s side like he was precious. “Yeah, no fucking shit.”
OR: Ma Henderson & Wayne Munson get cosy, Dustin makes an off-hand remark, and Steve spirals. It works out in the end.

Summary
“You got mugged?” James asked. “A muggle mugging? Merlin, you had a wand, didn’t you? Should’ve used it.”
“Couldn’t. Obliviate is my weakest spell. Can’t bring myself to do it right, I think.”
Lily finally spoke up. “What’s your name?”
“Remus,” the stranger answered quietly. He had a soft, careful sort of voice. He didn’t turn to face Lily, but he did catch her eye in the rear-view mirror. His eyes were soft too, the color of chocolate.
James laughed. “Yeah. You’re a wizard, alright. Where to, Remus?”
“I’m not sure actually,” Remus said gently. He glanced back at Harry’s carrier, and though he couldn’t see the baby inside it, frowned. “I’m looking for someone, heard he lives in this neighborhood. His name’s Sirius Black.”
------
One too many close calls lead James and Lily to cut ties with the Order of the Phoenix during the First Wizarding War, taking their infant son with them. Several months later, the Potters come across a bloody, disheveled man lying on the side of the road. A man they've never met before.

Summary
Sirius is fine… until he isn’t.
A stranger’s perfume drags the past into the present, and Remus finds him shaking in the kitchen at two in the morning. It’s been years since the war. Years since Azkaban. Years since Bellatrix. Sirius is safe. Happy. Loved.
And then one scent, one memory, one too dark night takes all the air out of the room. It isn’t pretty. It isn’t romantic.
It’s shaking hands, cold sweat, ugly sobs — and Remus on the kitchen floor holding onto the man he loves until the panic lets go.
