Summary
Suletta comes to greet her the next day. And the next day after that. And the next one after that. She always makes it a point to greet and talk to her. She always makes sure to ask Aerial how she's doing, no matter what she'll do that day. Sometimes, she spends the whole day watching shows and playing with her. Sometimes she talks with her for a little bit, before leaving to spend the day with mom.
Aerial wishes she could do something in return, but without bodily autonomy there aren't many things she can do. So, she does what she can.
Playing songs, watching shows, making sure her little Suletta grows nice and healthy. Trying to make sure she, most of all, doesn't ever feel lonely and sometimes, just sometimes, she sings her songs.

Summary
“Ah,” her mother says, faint amusement in her tone. “So you are awake.”
Gripping her under her arms, her mother attempts to set her on her feet, but Suletta tangles her fingers in the fabric beneath her tightly.
“No,” she says, screwing her eyes up. Her sock-clad toes are just brushing against the floor, until they aren’t, her mother raising her up so one arm is around her shoulders and the other is beneath her bottom. Instead of letting go, she presses her face even closer, into her shoulder, breathing in the scent of her hair— red like hers, although she will not remember that it ever was, later on— as she does so. This is as much a part of her mother as is the smell of the lubricant she uses on Aerial’s joints, Suletta sitting on the floor of the hangar as she watches her work on her sister. The one time she’d attempted to join her family, her mother’s hands had restrained her in a way she’s not accustomed to.
“You mustn’t go in there,” her mother had said solemnly. Then she’d smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “When you are older. Then you may come inside.”
Suletta and her mother over the years.
