“They want us to take in a hybrid?”
Scar doesn’t even try to hide the surprise and confusion in his words. Staring at Cub with both eyebrows raised to his hairline.
“I thought hybrid zoos were deemed too dangerous for the public.” Scar waves a hand over in the vague direction of the zoo exhibits they do have. “Not to mention we were never intended to be that kind of zoo, why us?”
Scar was just a humble zookeeper, he wasn't prepared to deal with this pesky bird that seems much more intelligent than everyone says he should be, but he isn't one to turn down an animal in need. Grian is just happy to be somewhere where he can lay on something soft, even if the humans are weird at this facility. Especially that scarred one.

“Do you trust them?”
“Huh?” Grian turned to look at Scar. The desert god held a confused expression, not understanding the sun god’s question. Grian felt his finger begin to circle the rim of the teacup in his hands.
“If people spoke ill of you or some wished to harm your temples, do you trust that your followers will protect your honor?” Scar’s eyes held a far away look in them for a second then he turned his head down and stared at the tea in his hand. The desert was contemplating the sun’s question and the sun was patiently waiting for an answer.
The desert looked back up to the sun.
“I do.” The sun smiled, pleased with the answer he received.
