Summary
A year after Eddie Munson dies in the Upside Down, Steve Harrington finds him alive in front of the trailer he used to call home.
But Eddie is different than before. He has ears that peek, bat-like, above his hair and eyes that burn gold in the night, and the memories of his old life, his name, the relationship he and Steve once held, are gone.
Steve is left to pick up the pieces, to help Eddie adjust to his new normal, all while hoping that someday life can be as it once was.

“Eddie,” he pleads, “Eddie, baby—”
But Eddie’s eyes are already rolling back, his consciousness slipping as Steve holds him.
“Robin!” He doesn’t recognize his own voice, high and cracking and desperate. “Robin, help me!” He cradles Eddie’s face in his hand and supports him with the other, blood staining his shirt.
Steve doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about anything because Eddie is here. He’s alive. He’s different and bloodied but even as Robin approaches, even as she tells him this looks really bad, Steve, Steve breathes his first full breath since 1986.

Summary
“Munson, are you a virgin?” Billy’s voice is full of unrestrained glee.
“No!” he snaps back out of reflex. He can feel his face heating up. Billy looks smug, his eyes narrowed in feline self-satisfaction.
“Holy shit, you are!” He throws his head back and laughs; actually stumbles when he puts too much weight on his bad knee and has to grab Eddie’s shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, asshole. I’m just… it’s never really happened for me, you know? Meeting a girl I like, who also likes me – it’s always some kind of bungled connection. There on one side but not the other.”
“Maybe you should quit your metal band and join the fucking Osmonds or something.”
“Billy, you’re not helping,” Eddie says, forgetting that they’re supposed to be on bro second-name terms.
“Didn’t realize you needed my assistance to get laid. Fine, I’ll help you.”
(The one where Billy is going to help Eddie get it on with Chrissy. Out of the goodness of his heart, of course.)

Steve continues, completely ignoring Eddie, “You’ll wipe your feet. You’re not dragging dirt all over my car. No hitchhikers. No cutesy road games. No smoking in the car. I’m not paying for all the gas.”
“Ass, gas or grass, got it,” Eddie says, like he's taking this very seriously. He is not taking this seriously.

Shit. Eddie's never going to get a better opening than that, is he? He laughs, high and breathless, his heart beating a stampede from his chest up to his throat. "Actually, that's an interesting question, Steve, and it brings me to an important point. Something I've been wanting to talk to you about for a while, some relevant information I should probably divulge, but I thought it might be prudent to wait until I was out of punching range."
"Sometimes I can't keep up when you talk," Steve says. "You wanted to tell me something?"
"Yeah. Yes. I absolutely did, and I'm going to tell you. Right now." Eddie twists his rings around his fingers, takes a deep breath, and says, "I'm gay, Steve."
"Oh," says Steve, and Eddie dies a thousand deaths, each more intricate and painful than being eaten by demobats. Then Steve says, "Boy groupies, then?"

Dustin discovers Eddie has a crush on Steve and tries to be his wingman but he's clumsy/not subtle and every time he tries to pull an antic to get them together Steve is just confused and Eddie is dying of embarrassment. But hopefully it works out!
