Summary
“Bout time there, sleeping beauty.”
The voice has Buck’s heart leaping as he jerks over onto his back, arms forced to be raised over his head by the restraints. He blinks at the shadowed figure leaning against the wall across from the foot of his bed.
“What the hell?” He pants, breath picking up with his heart rate.
“Mmm,” the figure hums and slowly moves into the light.
Buck’s heart stutters, his face dropping into a confused frown when a familiar face is revealed.
“Eddie?”
A sharp grin stretches across his best friend’s face.
“Not exactly.”
The warm brown of Eddie’s eyes is suddenly swallowed by pure black from corner to corner- no color, no white, all terror. Buck scrambles back, bare feet tangling in his comforter as he cowers as close to the headboard as he can get.

Summary
The first thing Buck noticed about the apartment was: it was new. Like really, really new.
New floors, new paint, new appliances still humming like they were straight out of the box. The stale air was thick with the chemical scent of paint and plastic, on top of a coldness that seemed to have nothing to do with the weather.
The second thing was: it was too clean. It smelled like that weird fake-lemon cleaner landlords love but dialled up to eleven. The kind of intensity that you only get when something bad happened and someone’s trying to cover it up.
And the third thing?
It was fucking haunted.
