Asada was having a not-so-good day as memories of a failed performance in a practice game filters through his thoughts. He's trying to come up with ways on how to stop being a nervous wreck on the mound for the next time. He stares at their ace and wonders if he ever has gone through the same thing.
And no, this isn't really a re-telling. I'm just a sucker for Eijun + first years interactions.

Summary
Dealing with change is never easy, even more so when instead of walking towards an uncertain future, Sawamura Eijun finds himself back in his childhood days for no reason, he's unsurprisingly rather unhappy about the unwelcome change.
Coming to terms with his new situation and realizing that now more than ever all he truly needed was a bat and a baseball to be happy, Eijun does what he does best: walk forward with optimism, even if his new path would lead him somewhere he couldn't see or guess.
If he forced his help on some unwilling friends on the way, well no one asked him to come back instead of going forward either, he also doesn't need their thanks, they could just deal with it.Good for him then, that he too has people who want what is best for him.

'What...what’s happening. Why am I shaking?’ closing his eyes his head started to hurt as flashes of images and scenes from like a movie started to flit through his mind. Things that made no sense as he doesn’t remember any of this happening to him and yet all of the things he was seeing were definitely of him and the others.
‘Dead ball!’ an image of a ball smacking the head of an Inashiro player in the batter box in a game.
‘Yips’ the word causing his heart to race despite never having heard it before, he watched himself running in the rain with a haggard and haunted look on his face.
‘...he can’t pitch to the inside with a batter in the box’ a haggard look on his face as he stared down at his clenched fist with Miyuki staring at him worried behind the plate in the indoor bullpen with the boss standing in as batter.
‘There is a pitch I’ve wanted to teach you for some time now, this is the perfect time for you to learn it’ Chris said as he walked towards him with his glove in hand as he watched me struggle to pitch into a net.
‘Memories? Memories of what though?’
Eijun suddenly regains the memories of his futureself and is determined to fix past mistakes, at all costs.

… A heavy struggle for the win during the second to fourth innings, with both aces giving up hits but no runs. Soon enough, one side would have to bend. Unfortunately, it seems Seidou was the first… Furuya Satoru gave up five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bases were loaded. One out. Seidou’s relief pitcher, Sawamura Eijun (#18), stepped up and managed to keep them from scoring, even against Ichidai’s cleanup and fifth batter…

Summary
If you could choose which moment you would like to go back to the past, which moment would you choose? I bet many would say it would be a time when they could change things that went wrong, or even before that. Well, I had no choice, I didn't even know what was going on until I heard a loud 'deadball' ring through the stadium.
'Control, I need more control!' Sawamura thought as he got into the stance to throw.
CLACK
The sound of the ball hitting the batter's head can be heard as the entire stadium went silent from the shock as they saw him fall to the ground. Miyuki widened her eyes as she saw the second batter smile and then heard the umpire yell
"D-Deadball!!"
And then came the batter's roar, before the doctors came to check on him. Shirakawa was happy, the momentum that was in the other team's favor was broken by a pitch, despite the first year having struggled well during the previous two innings it seems the pressure has finally fallen on him. He looked at Carlos who was going to replace him at the base. 'Come on, put even more pressure on the other team, if anyone can do it, it's you!' thought the redhead as he assured his trainer that he was fine.
