Henry still has work to do. He spends his days at the Brooklyn shelter, or working on the early plans for the next one they plan to open outside of the state, so Alex can't even bother him. He's just sitting there. At home. With nothing to do. He's going stir-crazy.

Henry didn't realise that being brave isn't a one-and-done thing. Like checking off a box. Bravery: accomplished.
Unfortunately, Henry has learnt, you can't just apply for an internal job transfer to another country and then move there without knowing anyone, and have that be the one brave thing you do. As if doing something so brave would fulfill his lifetime quota of brave things in one fell swoop. It seems unfair that he has to continue being brave in small and various ways each and every day.
Knocking on a neighbour’s door to introduce himself: brave.
Smiling at the man on the train yesterday morning when he leapt on board, and getting a nod back in response: brave.
Accepting a colleague's invitation to grab a coffee together one weekend, at the cafe next to the dog park: brave
