THIS IS *NOT CANON* TO THE ORIGINAL FANFIC!! I wrote this after the killer cliffhanger that is Chapter 9 of the original fic. My brain sees a whump possibility and off it goes.

Summary
The Hamato family saved their planet, their city, and each other from the Krang; they’ve taken much needed time off from hero work to heal- both physically and mentally.
Mikey sees the progress his brothers’ have made- Raph’s started sparring with his brothers again, Leo no longer wakes up thinking he’s in the prison dimension, and Donnie’s (mostly) shut out the ghostly textures of the Krang’s spaceship goo.
However, the youngest turtle feels as though he’s falling deeper and deeper into mental anguish. His nightmares get more vivid and terrifying as the nights pass, and he can’t shake the feeling that there’s something more sinister at work.
(Spoiler alert: there is)

Eddie has a surprising amount of muscle definition going on in the forearm region. Jamie has witnessed, on four separate occasions, someone do a double take at Eddie’s forearm. Karen from HR still bears the nickname ‘Mugbreaker’ after Eddie turned the corner near her office, coming face to face with her just as he rubbed a hand through the hair at the nape of his neck, exposing the wiry flex of muscle between wrist and elbow, and Karen famously dropped a cup of coffee all over the floor. Ergo, either Eddie goes to the gym, or he’s on steroids.
Eddie is the kind of man who keeps a makeshift itemised medicine cabinet in his third desk drawer, with a padlock on the handle, the key for which he keeps in the inside pocket of his suit jacket, and who administers a library style check-out system of medication whenever anyone asks for a Paracetamol.
Eddie is probably not on steroids.
Eddie's coworker finally convinces him to bring his elusive spouse to an office party. It goes about as well as you might expect, which is to say spectacularly.

The man looked up again and when the curls fell out of his face Eddie’s eyes moved from the photographer’s jaw over his cheeks to his eyes. He was smiling at Eddie and the corners of his eyes wrinkled adorably when he did so. He didn’t know what he expected to see when he barged into the room, but Eddie hooked up to a thousand beeping machines and smiling brightly at him wasn’t it. Richie skidded to a stop in the doorway, nearly causing a pile up behind him. His breath caught inside his chest at the sight of Eddie, his hair a riotous mess and his doe eyes wide and glassy.
“Hey, guys,” Eddie said when he saw them. There was a nurse tinkering with one of the machines beside him.
They ignored her and huddled around Eddie’s bed. Richie stood near the back corner and drank in the sight of him. He squeezed his hands together and bit the inside of his cheek to keep himself from crying. Again. Jesus.
