Summary

Steve might be losing his mind, but he's certain of one thing: Barbara Holland is going to die. Before the year is out, someone – or something – is going to murder her. So he does the only logical thing – he attempts to befriend her. It's easier to save someone if you're standing next to them, right?
Setting out to save Barb is supposed to make things make sense.
Instead, it causes Steve to question everything he thought he knew. The visions keep coming. And the more Steve tries to fix things, the more uncertain the world around him becomes. Especially when it comes to Eddie Munson – someone Steve can’t quite explain. Someone who feels different than he should, heavier somehow, as if the future itself is pulling Steve toward him. A gravity Steve is certain wasn't there before.

The plan had been good, and it nearly worked, but the grabber bested him anyway, after he lured the man into the hole, hearing the bone snap as he fell on the grate from the window, the guttural shout the man let out, he managed to get a few punches in, he had been so close, so close!
