"We could have one of our own," Nai said, pitching his voice low. Gently, he squeezed Vash's waist, his fingers spreading out across his hip. It wasn't a particularly brotherly touch - and naturally, Vash shifted away, his eyes already scanning the faces of the other commuters. His brows pinched in.
"I dunno, Nai," Vash said. "Let's talk about it later."
Convincing Vash has always been a losing game. So in another world, a better world, Nai gives up trying.

However monstrous Knives might be in his violence and fierceness of conviction, Vash is just as much a monster, in his own private way. It's a truth that Vash has spent his entire life running away from. The two of them are, and always have been, a matched pair. Knives has just always been better at using his monstrosity than Vash.
