Summary
Growing up, Patrick was never the most outgoing and that hasn’t changed at all. Even now, he’s got no problem letting other people take the front; Pete’s the ringleader of this whole circus, not him. Patrick simply wasn’t made from the right kind of stuff to be put under the spotlight. He doesn’t do well when people look too hard. Doesn’t want people to look too hard because there’s a sure fire chance they’ll find something in him that they don’t like. To be fourteen years old, presenting for the first time, and having all his shit laid out in the open for his freshman class to poke around in felt like the ultimate betrayal. And by his own damn body at that.
Scent blockers were kind of a no brainer.

He knows that if he sets a toe out of line, everything he’s trying to rebuild could come crashing down, and he really will be just as has-been at 28.
