Being second was fine.
No, really. Kirishima didn't mind too much, he was used to it. He never really liked standing out. In middle school, he tried to be more outgoing, but there was nothing too special about dark black hair and a not-so-flashy hardening quirk. With the extensive amount of effort he put in, Kirishima even managed to place second during the U.A. entrance exam, and that was more than enough for him. Changing himself didn’t work either because even with red hair and a new persona, it wasn't like he suddenly became number one.
That spot belonged to Bakugou. Confident, brash, explosive. The boy who glowed so brightly to him. First at the entrance exam. First in the sports festival. First in everything.
Especially to Kirishima.

Yes. This will be my first ever bookmark like how it was the first ever fanfic I've ever read on AO3. Now this is the fic that started it all for me. This fanfic truly has a special place in my heart for ever and ever. Kirishima is just for real and the angst ruined me, I literally cry everytime time I read this bc I just can't handle it but I love it nonetheless. The raw emotion and description of what everyone is feeling even Bakugou is just incredible. I love this so much. So glad it was a happy ending or else I would've died.
Full seriousness I love this SM and I hope it stays here forever just for the sake and comfort of it being there for me whenever I need it. Thank you so much k1ngpin for making this.
