Chuuya Nakahara's life has fallen apart. No, that's wrong. That would imply it has ever been together. Regardless: he has nothing left to do, and upon the death of his mother, he finds that there is nothing typing him to a specific place. That's when he meets Dazai Osamu. Tall, annoying and clingy. Somehow, the two of them embark on a journey to find Chuuya's soulmate. That's all they have left to do, right? Neither of them have very much to live for, so this is what they've ended up with. And they plan to stick to it until the very end.

It hurt more to process it than it did to hear it. Dazai was always on the edge of taking his own life, on the edge of a building or a bridge or a knife.
Pills were meant to swallow sorrows for him, but Chuuya swallowed bullet shells.
He wasn't suicidal because his life was an endless downward spiral, he was suicidal because he would rather take his own life than see the life of another be taken from him.
For a man like Dazai, a man who had always reached out for death and received no answer, it was forlorn to watch the fiery partner of his wither to the hands of self-sacrifice.
