At Genesis’s urgent request, Angeal, Ph.D., R.Psych, accepts his last clients of the day, a couple going through what Genesis described as ‘a Significant problem’. With a capital S.
Sephiroth is nice enough, polite, well-mannered, and Cloud is… present. Angeal however, is a professional. He’ll listen to whatever the two throw at him, from grocery shopping disputes, to planetology, to sword fights, cults, and for some reason, overpriced candles. Even if it doesn’t make sense. Even if none of it makes sense.
Aka: A millenia later in the re-modernized future, Cloud and Sephiroth get into a fight … and get shipped off to couples therapy. The session doesn’t help, though it does give Angeal an existential crisis.

“Here’s the thing,” Zack says, voice trembling. Rising. Finally. “All the shit we went through… I’d go through it again, if it meant I ended up by your side again. Don’t get me wrong. But I’m glad you don’t remember any of it. You’re lucky.”
The apartment goes very quiet. Cloud’s anger slips free of his hold, and the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end with its sudden presence.
“I’m lucky?”
Against all odds, Zack and Cloud make it to Midgar. Things aren't perfect, but they're happy just to be alive. There's just one thing: Cloud's memories don't match up with the stories he's been told. And there's something wrong with Zack.
