Summary
The USJ is cut short with the early appearance of All Might, who stops the Nomu before the almost-fatal head bash can happen to Aizawa, leaving him conscious. Such a little change means that Shigaraki and Kurugiri have no way to escape come the end, and with the appearance of half a dozen heroes turning up on scene, they're captured before they can do anything drastic. Like kidnap a kid who goes to summer camp. But not only does this put a halt to their plans, it unlocks some secrets that shake the foundation of the hero society.

While Kuni basically lives with the villains at this point, using her spare time to care for them, a sense of duty that comes from being the oldest in the room; hanging around with a bunch of angsty kids had never been on her bucket-list. In fact, the opposite had been true, and she'd been happy with her job as a supporting medic for the Heroes.
Or she had been, until she'd met a little girl in an alleyway starving from a need she couldn't control but got shamed for even having, and decides to help out when no one else has ever offered.
