Amusement flickers over Tsumiki’s face. “I hope I didn’t interrupt anything?” Her succeeding smile would seem nothing but angelic to the regular bystander, but Megumi knows her well enough to spot the mischief behind her eyes when she looks pointedly at Megumi. Megumi, not for the first time, regrets ever being forthcoming with her, especially about slightly embarrassing, definitely one-sided crushes. He should have known she would never let him live it down.
Itadori’s face is progressively turning redder. Megumi thinks he can almost visualize the way words flounder in his head, so he decides to spare him the agony.
“Itadori was just leaving,” he says, staring pointedly back at his sister. “Right, Itadori?” He glances expectantly at the other, almost surprised when he seems to visibly deflate.
“Uh, yeah,” Itadori eventually agrees, uncharacteristically quiet and subdued. He starts shoving his papers into the backpack he’d brought over, but he’s not meeting Megumi’s eyes. Megumi frowns.

Matter of factly, Megumi elaborates, “I need a fake partner to expose the fact that Gojo has a fake partner, thereby winning the bet. I don't want to imagine the types of penalties he’d make up for ten days, so my fake partner has to be a better fake than his.”
“Right.” Nobara looks like she’d rather be shot.
