And so what if a habit has formed? Not like there's anyone around who cares that he's withering away.Steve wants nothing to do with Eddie. He's exhausting. Draining. Toxic as shit. He's not sure why Robin cares to look after his addict ass all the time.
He kind of resents that she expects him to pick up the babysitting when she leaves the state.
Really shows that nothing has changed in the last year.

When the bell rang he’d reached the conclusion that he should probably stop running from it by now. Right now he was running down a hill, which was easy, but soon the hill would probably start going up and it would become harder to run. It was just that when you were already running full speed down a hill, it was hard to stop.
Stranger things modern no upside down au. Or the party and older teens just being normal teenagers and all the positives and negatives that come with that. Pov's for every character, in (hopefully) even amounts.

Steve took Eddie’s hand, weak and cool to the touch, and cradled it gently between his palms as he raised it towards his mouth. Eddie’s knuckles brushed against his lips as Steve closed his eyes and whispered, almost like a prayer, the words were raw and painful in his throat,

Wayne is used to getting calls about Eddie, whether from the nice secretary from Hawkins High or Hopper. He doesn't get calls from the hospital. He definitely doesn't get calls from the hospital about people that aren't Eddie. He's surprised to get a call from the hospital about Steve Harrington.
AKA Steve gives the hospital a random number since his parents aren't home and Wayne comes to pick him up.
