My take on "Emily fell first, JJ fell harder".
This is for the ones who feel too damaged to be deserving of love. And for the ones who, in spite of uneven odds, still try to hold on. Love isn't always easy or conventional—but that doesn't make it any less worth fighting for.
We do not talk about the excessive (and probably also wrongful-) use of italics, ellipses, and em-dashes. Nor the symbolism, or metaphors (author has never been taught how to deal with emotions, so we're just vibing our way through).
