Summary
Bruce had never been one for trivial matters such as whom he took to his bed, but he did have one exception; vampires, or nobility of any sort.
It wasn’t as if he was entirely against them. But he had his reasons to avoid the higher classes, especially the vampires. ‘Twas simply in his blood to do so, and he did with ease whenever possible. That was until a certain vampire plucked him out of a crowd and had their eyes set on Bruce quite insistently—not to bed the whore, to Bruce’s dismay—but to buy his company, drink of his blood, and stay the daylight in the man’s room. The only things the strange vampire named Clark had asked of him.
It was only for one night, and the fickle creature would leave and never be seen again. Then Bruce would be back to his work as both a prostitute and Batman.
But he was wrong. The vampire kept coming back. Refusing his bed at every encounter, merely asking the same as he’d had the previous night: company, a meal, the night with Bruce.
And at the very same time, the murders of the courtesan's in the Narrows began.

Bruce opened his eyes.
A red cape rippled in the wind above him. A gold symbol—bold, and bright—stood out against the deep blue of a suit that barely seemed real.
And then the face. Calm, focused, and unabashedly kind.
Superman.
“You alright?” the hero asked, voice deep and sure, like the world wasn’t ending around them.
Bruce blinked, not sure what surprised him more—the fact that he was alive, or the man who’d made sure of it.
“I-I am now,” he muttered, mind still scrambling after the fall.
Superman’s smile was subtle, but real. “You know, I never get tired of hearing that.”
And just like that, Bruce Wayne—who’d accepted death—was held in the arms of something he didn’t believe in.

The list was long, but had never included if you were here. Clark was always there. He’d outlive everything but the sun. Bruce had all the time in the world to consider ifs, until he didn’t. Meanwhile in Metropolis, Clark finds himself underground, dirt as far as the eye can see. His day could be going better it could also get worse.
Clark went to the farmers market on a rainy Sunday afternoon, that’s the last time anyone has seen him by Batman’s account. It’s a love story. It’s a detective story.
