Summary
Tim let his mother wrap his wings for the gala. She always did it tighter for special occasions. Making sure it wouldn’t come undone so Tim couldn’t “Disgrace the Drake name” more than he already had.
His wings almost always hurt from being bound all the time, but when they were wrapped this tightly? He knew he was in for a world of pain later.
He didn’t voice this to her though. Maybe he would have when he was younger, less experienced, and more of a burden. But now? He knew better.
He knew way better.
He let his mother dress him and get him ready, he let her put makeup on his bruises and under his eyes, he let her do his hair.
“Timothy, today we have something very important for you to do okay? I’m not going to tell you yet, but you must be on your best behavior, and you must listen to me and your father.”

Timothy Jackson Drake was no stranger to being alone. On the contrary, he was the most comfortable then. He preferred when his parents were gone, off in some foreign country he would never get to see, then when they were back home.
How awful of a son was he? That he preferred his parents gone?
Regardless, they were back for a few days, and he was sure that he would rather die than have to sit through another one of these talks.

“You scared I’m gonna finish the job replacement?,” Jason asked, and Tim’s hands instinctively touched the scar on his throat.
“Dad, please,” Tim begged, tears filling his eyes, “Can’t we just... wait a bit? Maybe a year? It’s just- it's so soon. I can’t-”
Bruce held up his hand, and so Tim stopped speaking.
“This was never up to you Timothy, this is my house, Jason will stay if he wants, he’s my son.”
“But what about me!!? Why don’t I matter??? I’m your son too!!!”

“You can’t take him.” He said, struggling to keep his voice steady.
With how heartbroken Sam looked, Dream almost believed that he was sorry. But he knew that he couldn’t trust any of these people.
Adults had long proven themselves untrustworthy and Dream was clearly unable to depend on them.

How dare that pretentious teenager think he could replace him. Fuck him actually, he was a pretender playing dress up. He took a deep breath and moved his finger to the trigger. The rifle had been outfitted with a silencer so Bruce wouldn't even hear the shot that took out his new sidekick.
