Summary
“Ever feel really lethargic when the rain hits?” Hawks asks eventually out of the blue, breaking the rhythmic pitter-patter of the rain. At Tokoyami’s nod, he continues. “I bet it’s the bird in us. Like how animals seek shelter when they sense a storm coming. I wonder what it’s like for other people with animal-based quirks?”
Tokoyami is stuck inside of Hawks’ agency because of rain. He’s brooding beside one of the windows when Hawks finds him and tosses him a drink. Hawks takes a seat beside him, and the two engage in small chatter while they stare out at the rain together.

Hawks sighs, and pushes his hair back out of his face. “It’s not that they’re wrong, they’re just different, and that’s wrong. The more you’re different, the more reason people have to distrust you, yeah? And if people distrust you, how can you be a hero? I want you to be safe, and not have to deal with all that scrutiny.”
Hawks was really only trying to help Tokoyami. He never meant for it to go so far sideways.
