This was written as part of a fic fandom trade challenge with romanfunkboy. The challenge was to write in a fandom the other chooses, given a brief description of their OTP and given a situation off the "bad things happen bingo". The situation I got, and very loosely interpreted was "Trying to wake them up". Word limit was 200-500.

Harry feels like a walking corpse, stumbling around the halls, barely tethered to reality. He is there; he is always back at the battle.
He never left.
With one last look of the clearing, he twisted on his heel and apparated away. He hadn’t thought of a specific place, like you’re meant to; he had just wished for peace. Harry knows this is how you get splinched, but he didn’t much care.
It’s not like he can die anyway.
When his feet hit the ground, he was met with billowing grey smoke from recently extinguished fires and terrifying, suffocating dread.

The pale skin under his cheek was hot like fire. It, and the rest of the Dark Lord, started to melt away as the world around them crumbled. Pieces of the sky fell and shattered like glass against the writhing earth. The Machine creaked and groaned. Voldemort screamed. Harry let his eyes slowly slip shut.
