    Will’s mouth quivers. “Uh- I- Um-”

    Goth Mike waits patiently for his answer. Will steadies himself with a deep breath and gazes ahead. “I used to a lot." He shrugs. "I try not to anymore, because we’re just meant to be friends in our universe.” Will tries to say it as though he’s happily accepted the reality. It doesn’t hurt any less. “But… it still happens sometimes,” he whispers.

    Goth Mike looks at him with pain behind his eyes. “Do you want to know what it’s like? Right now?”

    Will is swept off his feet by alternate versions of Mike while Mike fights for his life to face the question of why they aren't together.
