Columbina hums. When she thinks back at all the people who left Sandrone behind--including her own past self--she only has one thing to say. "People are idiots, then."
Sandrone makes a noise in her throat, as if she's been caught off-guard again. Then she lets out a small laugh.

Usually, Sandrone likes to be the one who takes care of things in their relationship. But when pre-heat hits her out of nowhere, Columbina is more than happy to spoil her omega girlfriend.

"Columbinaaa!" she yells. On her screen, her scout bots display error messages, overwhelmed with the amount of kuuvahki condensing in the area. She knows that it's on purpose, a laughable strategy in hiding tracks. Or maybe it's genuinely just to mess with her.
A glint of moonlight, then the sound of a giggle floats to her side. "You called, Sandrone?"

Columbina is Sandrone's former nemesis turned co-worker, and full-time nuisance. But as strange feelings and an encounter with Dottore force her to spit out the truth, she finds out how important Columbina truly is to her and the lengths she'd go through.

Then, the tip of the violin bow presses under Columbina's chin, forcing her to tilt her head up.
"Who said that this was purely for your sake?" Sandrone asks, looming over Columbina. "You want to hear me play, and I happen to be in the mood to practice. Now, are you going to keep backtracking, or are you going to shut up and listen?"
Words fail her as she's trapped under that intense stare. It takes her clearing her throat for her to find the courage to weakly say, "I'm...listening."

Columbina seemingly has her whole life set for her, with her audition for the conservatory and promising singing career. But then she hits an unexpected roadblock--what does it mean to feel the music? A few encounters with a certain student conductor helps her with that.

It's only then that she realizes just how tight her chest is and how hard she's clenching her jaw to the point that her teeth are starting to ache. Sandrone takes her up on that advice, and she slowly lets out a breath.
"There you go," Columbina murmurs almost to herself. "Good girl."
Sandrone freezes.

After a freak accident in an experiment for her research, Sandrone stays with her adoptive father to 'recuperate'. This includes, but is not limited to: helping out at the flower shop, yelling at idiots, tending to Alain's garden, yelling at more idiots, and perhaps getting a private session with the cute tattoo artist in town.

The woman--or princess, she supposes--also seems to be around her age as well. Her royal robes, browns and whites and reds woven together, flow along her graceful figure as she keeps her chin up high. Her brown hair is pinned up in a labyrinth of braids. She's perhaps the only one in the family who stared at Maalaus with such glaring intent, at least with how her sapphire eyes stare right at Columbina through the painting.
Columbina turns away from the painting and asks, "Who is she?"

Princess Columbina already has her whole dull life laid out by her mother, the queen. As she travels to a neighboring kingdom for her arranged marriage, she meets a strange new woman who uproots her whole life.

Summary
Columbina sees her for the first time at a gallery on a Tuesday. She is scowling at a painting and Columbina forgets what she came for.
That is the beginning of everything.
Years later they are married, expecting a daughter, and life is cookie dough at six in the morning and a nursery mural with a tiny hidden door painted in it for their baby to find someday. It is a painter who pretends she does not need anyone and a pianist who has known from the start that this is not true. It is a father who drives forty minutes for the right pastry. It is a baby named Aurélie who arrives and makes the whole world larger.
Sandrone loves the way she does everything, completely and without making a fuss about it. Columbina has been paying attention since that first Tuesday and she does not plan to stop.
In short, a family fic.

Summary
Lahat ay naka-schedule sa buhay ni Sandrone: mula sa SSG meetings hanggang sa general average niyang 100. Zero tolerance siya sa mga rule-breaker, lalo na kay Columbina—ang star Middle Blocker na tila laging lutang sa klase pero hari kung mag-spike sa hardcourt.
Sa pagitan ng regional qualifiers, puyatan para sa CETs, at 7-Eleven dates over shared siopao at C2, may isang bagay na hindi na-compute ni Sandrone: ang mahulog sa babaeng walang pakialam sa rules niya.
Sabi nila, know your limits. Pero paano kung kahit tapos na ang oras at ubos na ang timeouts, hihiling ka pa rin talaga ng... "Pres, isang set pa?"
