In the days leading up to their Korean debut, Nicholas realizes that Euijoo is going home. He can’t seem to tell whether that means Euijoo is leaving, or whether he is about to be left behind somewhere he didn’t even know he lived.

‘Call me if you need anything else.’
There’s that illusion of choice–the word ‘if’ gave Nicholas a way out. But looking back, it wasn’t really a choice at all. Not when he’d gravitated towards Euijoo the first day he stepped foot inside that hospital. Not when he’d try to catch Euijoo’s eyes whenever they had morning briefings. Not when he needed two years to muster up the courage to ask for his number. Euijoo was the magician and Nicholas had played right into his trick–but who had built it all up in the first place?

Summary
There was a time when Euijoo used to have things under control; when he was less transparent and more composed. He’s always found Nicholas to be breathtakingly beautiful—but it was easier to look at him, back then.
Now, Euijoo fears looking at Nicholas for too long because he knows exactly what will be written on his face when he looks back: total and utter devotion.
