    Summary

    Day 298.

Dennis sat at the same desk, dim lamp behind him. “If something happens,” he said quietly, “I hope the right person sees this.”

Robby’s breath caught. Dennis looked directly into the camera.

Determined in a way that’s begun to feel familiar.

“I wrote his name down today,” Dennis continued. “He doesn’t know me. But he knows patterns. He’ll understand the structure. He’ll see it.”

Robby’s pulse pounded in his ears. The right person.

    His name. Robby’s name.

    Dennis smiled faintly.

“He seemed tired at the diner,” Dennis added softly. “Like someone who stopped believing in institutions but still wants to. I hope I’m right about him.”

    OR

Dennis Whitaker is a 27 year old who just wanted to spend the night with his best friend Trinity, who was getting married the next evening.

He didn’t expect to get stuffed into a suitcase.

Michael Robinavitch didn’t expect to be accused of treason, or fall in love with the boy who practically accused him of it.

    Summary

Dennis Whitaker doesn't expect anything from his first night trying out the city's gay bar, but after meeting Michael, his whole night changes. They're a good match. Neither is looking for commitment, just a night of slightly drunken fun. And the sex? It's the best Dennis has ever had- not that he has much experience.
However, when he starts work the next week and realizes that Michael is actually his boss and teacher, Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavich, neither of them know what to do. With HR violations being a real possibility and neither one of them wanting to complicate things, Dennis and Robby decide that they are better off pretending like their night together never happened. But when feelings grow too strong, neither of them are able to push it all down anymore. Will they be able to continue working together, or will they be stuck awkwardly evading one another forever?

    Summary

“Look kid.” Dennis hates when Robby calls him that. Or at least when Robby does it to try and emphasise their age gap. It could be hot if Robby didn’t actually treat him like a kid. Like he is right now. “I’m flattered honestly, but you don’t want to date me.”

Dennis barely contains a scoff. Crossing his arms he straightens, standing as tall as possible. Their height difference really doesn’t help Dennis, not when Robby is literally looking down at him all the time. “I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to, Robby.”

Dennis is sick of Robby not taking his advances seriously, so he advances onto Jack Abbot. It helps that they both enjoy how much Robby hates them interacting

    Summary

“Do you actually have a place to live?”

Dennis has never been a good liar, and Jack Abbot’s unrelenting stare might as well be a polygraph test.

“I’m currently between places,” he admits.

Abbot works his jaw, head tilting to the side as he continues to assess Dennis like he’s a patient in his ED.

“Do you own a car?” He asks, his voice sounding softer to Dennis but maybe it's just dampened by the sound of his own pulse in his ears.

“Not at the moment, no, I’m actually-”

“Between cars?” Abbot finishes for him.

Shame pushes Dennis’s head down. “Yeah, something like that.”

Abbot continues to stare at him -does this guy ever blink?- before he sighs and shakes his head.

"Alright, pack your shit," He orders, clearly having heard enough.

    -

Jack discovers Dennis instead of Trinity. Behind closed doors, neither of them is really holding it together, and an unlikely support system is formed.
