Summary
Zuko had never excelled at anything. Azula was a prodigy. Uncle always knew what to say. And Father... Father was strong, iron-like. But Zuko had only ever been good at surviving. Putting one foot in front of the other in a grim show of stubborn determination, gritting his teeth and bearing it. Survival was all he had ever been taught. He knew how to do it. So when he was kidnapped by the Southern Water Tribe, he expected to fight as he always had. He didn’t expect to be taught instead how to live.
In a warring land, the Water Tribe forgave the enemy in an act of defiance. For this, he was torn from them, and this time, his wounds won't heal so easily.
Forced back into nothing but survival, the last person Zuko expected to see was Hakoda's son. Hakoda was a promise of safety. The relentless blue of Sokka’s eyes was a promise of happiness. Zuko could have both if he just reached out his hands, but he found them clutching into fists. After all, he’d been burned one too many times.
But hey, at least between Hakoda and Sokka, Zuko could appreciate the family resemblance of pure, asinine stubbornness.

Summary

Summary
Kaeya never dreamed that a simple mission of taking out a Fatui base could go so incredibly wrong.

Holy shit this is some good soup right here I am INVESTED. I am DEDICATED. This is renewing my desire to write things of my own. This feels very canon. I am doing a story quest where Kaeya, the man the myth the legend, gets his ass absolutely demolished. Kicked into the stars. Folded like a pinata at the birthday party of a group of emotionally repressed toddlers and/or teenagers.
Lmao imagine that domino effect. You push someone out of the way and absolutely eat shit in a pool of strange liquids, and it all down the line leads to a fun family gathering except with a lot more leaves and doom and gloom and "oh no my autonomy" which probably isn't the right word for that but oh well.

I'm unesesarily rambling but like it's 4am right now and I have to get up and go to class in like 6 hours, so my apologies. This story makes me forget about my feet trying to kill me, though the characters can't say the same. The predicament is predicamenting.

Summary
For once Zenitsu is the only one awake. Tanjiro and Inosuke lie comatose after their battle in the Entertainment district, and Zenitsu is alone, full of grief and regret. But things only get worse for Zenitsu when word reaches the Butterfly Mansion of people going missing in Osaka. A large group of demons are on the prowl, and the local demon slayers can't catch them.
Shinobu dispatches Kanao to hunt them down and chooses Zenitsu to be her guide, and to help her learn to communicate, if they have the time. But this is more than a mission for Zenitsu, and it's not the real demons he's scared of this time. He must reflect on how far he's come since joining the Demon Slayer Corps, and whether he's turning into the man he wants to be.
He's going to the one place he swore he'd never go. Zenitsu is going home.

This was such a reading journey. And I loved literally every second of it. It would have been better if the site didn't get bombarded while I was in the middle of reading it but thankfully I managed to steal it away in downloads.
I love love love when people explore the characters of characters in depth and this was so beautifully written. Kanao and Zenitsu were a duo I never knew I needed, and they complement each other so well. Exploring all of the stuff that went down during those twos childrenhoods too?? Muah. Words can't describe my love for this fic and I will be rereading it.
Everything is so beautiful and snazzy and I would use a larger word but I butcher the spelling every time I attempt to use it so I won't. <<3333
