Summary
As Lance enters the house party, he is hit with a wave of heat and overwhelming smells, sweat, alcohol, something fruity that was probably vape fumes. He immediately looks for Keith and spots him across the room, with two girls flirting with him.
Even though their relationship was secret, Lance couldn't help his spike of jealousy as the girls giggled and twirled their hair while talking to Keith, who was oblivious to their approaches as always.
He couldn't blame the girls, after all, Keith was effortlessly beautiful, with his defined build of an athlete from years of competitive track, his piercing violet eyes and that horrible, yet endearing mullet that Lance secretly loved.
Lance pushes through the crowd to steal Keith away from these girls.

“I already told you, I don’t have hypothermia,” Lance says. “I’m okay. I’m just really, really cold.”
Keith raises an eyebrow. “What do you think hypothermia is?”
“Oh, don’t get all technical. I—”
His body betrays him by breaking out into another fit of shivers, so violent they leave him dizzy, his vision dark at the edges.
It knocks most of the fight out of him, and he sits there for a moment, feeling miserable and pathetic.
“Look,” Keith says, his voice low and infuriatingly kind, “you can drop the act. I know you. I can tell when you’re not okay.”
Lance stares at him, feeling exposed and cut to the bone.
“I could get better on my own,” he says.
“You won’t,” Keith tells him bluntly. “Not unless you let me help you.”
