Vox didn’t touch Alastor like this. Never. And when he did, Alastor was always the one to start it.
The thought landed a second too late, and Alastor’s face had already begun to shift into something that Vox didn’t even want to describe.
He should let go. He should’ve already let go.
“Oh—Fuck,” Vox started, mortified and already beginning to move his hands. “Sorry, I didn’t mean—”
But then, by some god giving miracle, his hands slid up and draped over Vox’s shoulders, lazy and unguarded, their waists nearly brushing as he tilted his head with a sly smile.
“There’s nothing to be sorry for, my dear.” Alastor murmured. “We’re partners, aren’t we?”
Vox nearly crashed.
“Oh.” He replied dumbly.
Or
Vox thought he could handle a drunk Alastor. That was his first mistake.

“Your white man is here, Allie,” Husk spat out as he entered Alastor’s bedroom while she was still putting on her jewelry. “Get out of here before anyone notices that the car in our front yard is too swanky to belong to us or any of our friends.”
“Husker, it’s past midnight, the only people who are outside are drunks who got lost on their way home from the bar,” Alastor said as she fastened her earrings on. “Like you used to do, darling!”
“Don’t call me that,” Husk said. “Your real darling is outside, making a fool out of himself with that bouquet of roses bigger than his head.”
