Summary
Do you want to risk our peaceful life for one feral alpha? It's a trap. If they find us because of him, we are all going to die.
In this post-apocalyptic world, where a government system no longer exists, there are three ways to survive. You either have a pack to ensure your safety; wander alone, fighting for your life with the ferals or you belong to one of the many cults, which are dominated by one of the second genders, while others are held captive and treated as slaves, mostly for breeding.
Seonghwa leads a pack of seven members - all of them rescued by him from the cruel cult system. He is also the only unmated member of his family. At least until the day, when in an abandoned warehouse, he encounters a chained alpha, left to die in the middle of his rut. Seonghwa gets pulled into the alpha's heat wave from the intense scent and they accidentally mate.
Little does he know that the nameless alpha is a feral who was enslaved in the biggest omega cult for many years.

The true nature of the bonding marks remains a true mystery. Most believe one can only form a mark with their fated, chosen mate, with mutually cultivated love and affection. Some used to believe if you failed to cultivate a mark, or if they chose another, you may never have another. Others feel it is a random lottery, that one's magic simply attaches itself to the first highly compatible person and forms a bond.
Some claim bonds can be shared between three or more people, but this is rare, as dragons are territorial and possess little capacity to share.
A very secret few insist on the existence of single marks--unrequited love given form in a solitary mark with no twin or mirror. One half of a bond. Such stories are generally relegated to fairy tales and tragedies.

Wen Kexing preened with his flirtatious gaze and outrageous smiles, delighted in finally capturing Zhou Zishu's attention. He reminded Zhou Zishu a little too much of a prized courtesan who openly advertised certain other types of services. Ones that weren't appropriate to discuss in polite company.
"I'm sure they are." Zhou Zishu replied wryly, as he made a fleeting glance at the dead bodies that scattered around him. After all, dead people were hardly in a position to defend their professionalism.
Zhou Zishu took an alternative path to retirement. Badly injured, he desperately needed a bodyguard. And Wen Kexing, of course, eagerly volunteered his service.
