Summary
Martyn had talked to plenty of higher ranked people before, a few of them still way above his own rank, but this wasn’t the same.
There was something new about seeing this man, long brown hair cascading on his shoulder from so close. A man that he had only seen from afar and told to protect with his life, now standing in front of him and acknowledging his presence as more than just a soldier amongst many. The king knew his name and had personally asked for him.
And, in an instant, Martyn found himself alone in the room with the known and feared red king.
