His day had started with a raid on the under-rebuilding-process ministry, because of course it had. Normal was subjective when you were the best friend of the boy-who-lived-died-then-lived-again. Apparently Ron was just as prone to being a victim of cosmic bullshit a.k.a. fate as Harry but without the absurd luck that came with that.
Moody tapped the end of his wand under Ron's chin, lifting his face a little.
“Who the hell are you? And how did you get past the Fidelius?”

He thinks he’s screaming, feeling the claws drag across his skin, letting blood pour out as if he has an infinite amount. He wonders if the lake will be blood-red after he dies.
Regulus reaches his hand up, hoping Sirius will help him. Sirius doesn’t reach back.
His hand is dragged back down, and all Regulus can do is close his eyes and focus on the good memories. The thought of the ocean, the thought of Sirius, and he thinks he’s smiling as he feels himself get drowsy. He lets go of his breath and allows himself to fade away.
Or
Regulus Black goes back in time, covered in scars, and hates life.

Summary
Regulus was always quite fond of death. So when he was forced into defying the Dark Lord and his parents, he was excited that it would lead to where he meets his end. Even if that meant finally doing what he had feared for so long.
After being neglected of an option to do anything else besides searching for Voldemort’s secret—and finding it—he wound up in a cave that he just knew would be his resting place.
Except it wasn’t.
After achieving the goal, he was forced into death’s grip but then instantly hauled out before he could be relieved.
Waking up in the body of his 11 year old self with a brother that cares for him once more is the exact opposite of what Regulus needed.
He needed death, not another chance.
Or…
Regulus comes to terms with his life and only hopes for a way out. He didn’t however hope for that way to be through time rewinding until he was back to his first day of Hogwarts, completely erasing the past 7 years. Nor did he ever hope to meet James Potter again.

Summary
