Summary
Life is ever-changing. Never constant.
Neteyam knew this. His father had told him time and time again, and Eywa never failed to remind him.
This may as well have been Eywa herself this time.
Before him was an ineffable entity that distorted the world around her and what he could see of himself, her bright skin reflecting the dim light of the forest in an ethereal way. Two big purplish eyes stared right into his very being. Her mere presence was enough to throw the whole course of his life out of its orbit.
Was he exaggerating? Probably. If he repeated those words in front of Lo’ak - or anyone in Omatikaya for that matter - he’d never hear the end of it.
But if they saw her, too, they would understand.
