Belos drives the sharp edge of his nails into his-their body, and Hunter can’t flinch from the pain, take a deep breath, only feel the stabbing and the green burning sludge spreading into more of his flesh. “Caleb, do you really think you can play the fool with me? I have known you since the day I was born; I can recognise you from any of those pale imitations.“

Or, Belos escapes into the Demon Realm still controlling Hunter's body and, convinced he's Caleb reincarnated, sets to work getting his brother back.

Summary
The view from the staircase is, well, not stunning, that’s definitely not the word. It’s just that “view” is supposed to be accompanied by “stunning,” and Luz can feel her brain coming to a screeching halt and refusing to process what they’re seeing.
It's skeletons. Come on, they both knew it was going to be skeletons. The entire Isles know at this point.(Or: despite what the stories would have you believe, in the aftermath, there are things to deal with. Those things include ruined infrastructure, electing new leaders, and prosecuting those responsible for the old regime. And apparently, also Grimwalker mass graves.)

“I think I dropped my scroll on the field!” Skara sets her bag down on the bench, anxiety and defeat weighing on her shoulders. “My dad just bought that for me and now it’s gonna be fried in the rain. He’s gonna ki-” She pauses, glances quickly at Hunter with an apologetic grimace. “He’s gonna be so upset with me.” She amends.
“Oh, that’s fine. I’ll go get it for you.” Hunter scowls at his scroll. Really, these typos are starting to get on his nerves. He’ll demand another typing lesson when he gets back to the house.
He jabs at the power button—the only button he can really trust the consistency of—and marches toward the door.
“Wait, Hunter, what-?”
And he walks right out into the boiling rain.
