By no means is she ashamed to be trans, her highlights are blue and pink for a reason, it’s just that she doesn’t feel like everyone she meets necessarily deserves to know her story, especially, say, an unpleasant roommate who joins partway through the semester and insists that she won’t be staying long.
So Enid didn’t tell her, and now it would be weird to tell her because they’ve known each other too long and they’re dating now but the karmic punishment that the poor little almost-wolf is certain she’ll suffer is only growing in her mind as every day passes and she knows at some point the combined backlash of her mistake will kill her, but that hasn’t happened yet so she pushes it away.
