Ghost barely even paused to nod in compliance before sweeping their claws along the downy fluff of her wings once more. Hornet sighed, lightly flicking her sibling in the head with a flutter. Ghost stopped and poured as much indignance into their body as they possibly could, and Hornet chuckled teasingly.
‘Rude,’ they signed, crossing their arms and mimicked an angry huff with the calculated rise and fall of their shoulders.

'Do you remember me?'
She was a little surprised. Hornet's memory was impeccable, and she did not recall ever meeting this bug. Did they mistake her for another? The bug now only waited for confirmation, yet they seemed they already knew the answer before she'd even read it.
"No, I believe not," she answered. The bug drooped again, somehow looking more pitiful than before. Better to be brutally honest than to deceive, she decided. But she was not cold.

Hornet has settled into life in Pharloom. She's adjusted; made friends, saved lives, found a purpose beyond being a warrior. She's never been happier.
But she's not sure what to think when an oddly silent tourist starts trying to get her to remember them. They've clearly mixed her up with some other red-cloaked spider.

Summary
Amelia was never religious. Her students were shocked when they found out. She wasn't very surprised at all, stereotyping wasn't a rare occurrence so she didn't take their exclamations to heart. She even found it a little funny.
One of them had asked, once, after her shift, if there was a rhyme or reason why, words only the curiosity of a sheltered teenager could muster. Amelia had smiled and shrugged then, had spoken with a chuckle in her words, "I never found a reason to pray, I guess."
She never thought she would find a reason, but now, beneath that ever-burning, unchanging, cursed sun, she begged on her knees to a God that would never answer.

That is definitely a concussion, he thought off-handedly, trying and failing to stop the rising dread from consuming him whole. Miles blinked the hazy bleariness out of his half-lidded eyes, fixating on the swirling mass of black standing a few feet away from him.

Miles sacrifices himself to trap The Spot in the Spot Dimension. They sit in companionable silence as one readies himself for a lifetime alone, while the other slips into the cold hands eternal rest.

She blinks away the spotting in her vision, looking around at the horrid predicament she’s found herself in. Surrounding her are tangles of roots, composed from the same matter as Greyroot. But these have no life pulsing through them. The bark is dry, brittle entirely. She uses this weakness to her advantage, throwing her weight around as much as she is able until the wood breaks, sending her careening to the ground. Her movement seems to startle whatever was shoved into her as its movements quicken and her pain increases. She spends many moments curled around herself on the ground, choking back expletives and sobs. The creature pushes out against her shell, she can feel its tendrils wrapped around her organs, squeezing them, destroying them. She gags. Nothing comes out.
Or: Hornet has gotten herself cursed and must find a way to survive it, cure it, and live in the aftermath.

Summary
A weaver falls, a god ascends.
Hornet loses the battle against Grand Mother Silk, and finds herself strung up in the pale monarch’s web, devoid of everything that made her who she is. Lace grapples with the fact that she may never come back, and that perhaps, she held more feelings towards the spider who once was her foe than she can be possibly comfortable admitting.
Or
The tale of a crimson clad warrior turned to a haunted devout, and the love-wishing knight who will do everything in her power to bring her old self back—no matter the cost.
