“One question,” he says, and Frank thinks that maybe he’d been wrong. Maybe this is the softest he’s ever heard his roommate’s voice before.
“What?” Frank asks in a whisper.
“Are you telling me ‘don’t’ because you really want me to leave you alone, or are you telling me ‘don’t’ because you feel like you’re supposed to?”

“Frankie-”
Frank shakes his head frantically, “I’m not crazy, don’t look at me like that!” And even if he was, he feels pretty fucking strongly that he is allowed to rave like a mad man after that. “I’m not fucking crazy, you saw it!”
Gerard sighs quietly, reaching out to touch Frank's cheek. “I know you’re scared-” he sounds so reasonable that it makes rage seer through the smaller man’s veins.
On most occasions, Frank loves hearing those gentle tones from Gerard’s mouth. This is not one of those moments. Gerard is trying to calm Frank down, and Frank will not be fucking calmed down.

He doesn't feel sick yet, though, not at all, nothing like Anthony who already woke up with a headache drilling into his brain yesterday morning and then this morning again. He was sneezing all over the place yesterday, but the sneezing phase seems to have passed and left a very annoying cough instead.

"Frank?"
Frank doesn't seem to react. Ray blinks. Looks even more closely. The muscles in Frank's neck are pulled taut. He inhales through his mouth, exhales again. Slowly. Controlled.
Oh. Oh shit.
"Frankie. Hey. Can you hear me?"
For a terrifying fraction of a second Ray thinks that he again won't get an answer. Then, Frank nods a tiny nod. Okay. Okay, good. Ray can work with this.
"Panic or pain?"
Frank shrugs. His eyes squeeze shut, cheeks scrunching a little, and there's another controlled and even slower inhale. Frank holds his breath (one - two - three - four - five - six - seven seconds) and then exhales through his teeth with a small whooshing sound. His eyes open again.
"Both," he rasps out.

Summary
Kobra Kid is the one that finds the videos. He's the one that recognizes a young Fun Ghoul underneath all of the blood. It only makes sense, then, that he's the one who has to help when Ghoul becomes unable to face the evidence of his past coming to light.
They both agree that Party wouldn't be able to offer the comfort that Ghoul needs, because it's certainly not their usual brand of protective smothering and reassurance. Ghoul needs something more, something to replace all the memories that have suddenly began to crop up in the face of the videos, and Kobra is the only person he can go to.
NOTE: The full fic is written. We are staggering the release of the chapters but it is fully written and won't be left unfinished. One chapter will be released a week.

He leans in and presses a quick, trembling kiss to Bunny’s head. It feels insane, leaving a goodbye on the forehead of a stuffed rabbit, but he does it anyway. His voice comes out rough and hoarse, barely air.
“Take care of him,” he whispers into fake fur.
If he brings Bunny with him, she’ll have to see. She’ll have to watch him turn himself into a corpse, rather than a living, breathing being who loves her more than anything else in this world. He can’t do that to her. Can’t do that to Frank, either—not the part that consists of watching him slip away at least.
If he dies, Frank should have Bunny and Bunny should have Frank. They deserve each other. They deserve a version of Anthony who didn’t drag them into his own personal sinkhole.
Anthony deserves neither.
OR
Anthony feels like he doesn't deserve to live. Frank disagrees.
