Summary
"Can we talk?" Aaron finally asked. His voice was filled with unease as he looked into Macy's eyes, hoping to have an idea of what she was thinking and feeling, but her gaze gave nothing away.
The air between them only got slightly less awkward when Macy gave a stiff nod. "My room in five?"
That would give them both time to remove their weapons and armour before meeting, and Aaron returned the stiff nod. He could see Macy hesitating and it looked like she wanted to say something, but instead of saying it, she gave a minuscule shake of her head before turning around to leave.
He figured that whatever it was she wanted to say was most likely better off being said when they met up again, so he didn't dwell on it. There wasn't much point in asking her about it now since he'd probably know what she wanted to say soon enough.

"Just in time for Christmas!" Nathan exclaimed excitedly. "Dad, can I have it for Christmas?"
Zane could see his dad hesitating at his little brother's question, and Zane frowned, not liking where this was going.
"Well..." his dad began hesitantly, swallowing thickly as he prepared to break it to Nathan gently. "I know I promised to get you the console whenever it comes out, but I just don't have the budget for expensive Christmas presents this year. I wasn't expecting it to come out until after Christmas, and I will get you it eventually once I've saved up enough, but it won't be for Christmas. I'm sorry, son."
Nathan deflated at his dad's words. "I understand," he said with a disappointed sigh. "Just... at some point next year, please get it."
"I promise."
"Thank you," Nathan said dully, not quite believing the promise as he stood up. "I'm going to my room."
Zane felt his heart breaking at the sight of his little brother walking away dejectedly, leaving just him and his dad in the living room.

The two of them stayed like that in comfortable silence, eyes closed and smiling as they relished the contact and the warmth — both internal and external — it brought.
A few minutes later, Lucas said what was on his mind. "I'm so glad to be spending time with you here," he said softly, voice slightly muffled against Nick's sweater.
He knew something was wrong when he felt Nick stiffen, and Nick suddenly leaping away a split second later with eyes wide in alarm confirmed it.
"Where are my manners!" Nick gasped before Lucas was able to ask what was wrong. "I invited you here and I haven't properly welcomed you at all!" He quickly ushered Lucas to one of the couches and practically pushed him on it. "There! Just relax while I get something sorted. You are my guest, after all. I insist." With that, he kissed Lucas's cheek. "I'll be right back," he said softly before speeding off.

Sunny — who had been gazing intently up at the sky for all that time — finally looked away, mouth open preparing to say something, before quickly closing it upon realising the others had already went back inside, much to her disappointment.
Zipp couldn't blame her. With only the two of them remaining on the balcony while the others were nice and warm inside the Crystal Brighthouse, she found it reasonable for Sunny to assume that soon they would be heading back inside to join them.
But then again, maybe they didn't have to. She didn't mind the idea of just the two of them staying outside to enjoy the sight for a bit longer, and with a rush of excitement, Zipp realised that this was exactly what she had wished for.

Summary
Toby had promised himself once they had defeated Obscurio that he would tell Jessica how he felt about her, because after Supreme Luminos's death, he realised life was too short for things to be left unsaid. He wanted to clear the air about whatever this was he and Jessica had before it was too late, but with Gorm at peace, he didn't really feel that pressure of saying anything to her.
And since there was no imminent threat to deal with, it was a lot easier for him to keep chickening out.
But because of his pride, he wanted to stick to his original promise of telling her before summer break ended and today was the last day of doing so, and he knew he couldn't put it off or chicken out any longer.
No pressure, huh?
