It’s not how Daniel expected to find him. Ever, really. Even at his lowest, shaken up by Daniel’s little coup d'etat in Dubai, he’d been panicked but somewhat put together, at least compared to this. This is gone off the rails right off the deep end. Did anyone actually arrest him, or did he break in for this little tableau? How dramatic do you have to be?
“Hey, c’mon.” Daniel says, snapping his fingers. “Let’s go, pal. I’m busting you out of here.”

Summary
Armand stomps over and snatches Daniel’s phone out of his hand. He stares at it for a few moments before saying something in a language Daniel doesn’t recognize, but from his tone, it sounds like it’s probably cursing.
“Hey, at least you’re not the one getting canceled for being a pervert,” Daniel says. “Even though you’re the real dirty old man here, and the biggest fucking pervert I know.”
Armand actually smiles proudly at that.

Now he simply lay with his eyes closed motionless, listening to the crackle of Lestat's nails scraping the stones of the old building while he was making his way to the attic. Next was a vaguely annoyed clang of a window lock being ripped and the thump of Lestat’s boots landing on the floor next to it. Then came the silence, interrupted only by a steady beat of Lestat’s heart and his slow breathing.
“You do realize I know you’re not sleeping?”

The truth of the matter was that Armand had only ever known devotion. It was the only way he could love. And he had loved Lestat since he had first crawled up from the catacombs to watch him traipse through the streets of Paris with all the misguided confidence of a young god. And he loved him still, in his silence and in his absence, as the faithful love their distant Holy Father, to whom they devote their lives for the promise of eternal paradise.
Armand would never have that privilege. Heaven would not take him. Neither would Lestat.
