Summary
A Kanthony AU fic set in a more historical setting (though I cannot promise full accuracy). Set in Bombay (now known as Mumbai in modern day) during 1814, Kathani "Kate" Sharma is a woman fighting for independence from the British Empire and the East India Company's growing encroachment, all while working to provide for her family. Anthony Bridgerton is a viscount who once served alongside his father for the East India Company until his father's death, after which Anthony left for England. Anthony has now returned to Bombay to reclaim his family's abandoned property and, with the opportunity opened by the Charter Act of 1813, establish an agent-house and business that could even rival the East India Company. Kate and Anthony start from opposite sides, but will their mutual hatred for the East India Company be enough for them to become allies as the threat of war looms once again over the Maratha Empire's territories and the British forces?

“Stranger danger.” She whispered sarcastically instead.
“In that case, my name is Fiyero.” He extended a hand, “See if you introduce yourself, then we won’t be strangers anymore.” He smiled crookedly.
“What are you playing at?”
“Its late, its dark,” He leaned in and whispered playfully, “and rumor has it there’s idiots on Horseback trampling young ladies. Our apologies. Once again.”
A puff of air out of her nose.

Summary
Elphaba needs money and she needs it now. In addition to being born without arms, Nessarose was born with an undiscovered heart defect. When she begins having fainting spells, a doctor informs the Thropp family that Nessa does not have long unless she gets a very dangerous and expensive surgery. Elphaba, still of the opinion that Nessa's problems are her fault, resolves to find a way to make the money.
She does not realize that her only choice will be to sell herself - actually, to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. A week with some stranger in a hotel, doing whatever acts he wishes. It's what she has to do. And she'll do it.
