Bucky blinks herself awake through blood-encrusted eyelashes to watch the woman with wings descend upon her, and can only think, she's an angel. She’s an angel coming to take me home.
It can't be true, though, because there is no universe in which Bucky Barnes would be going to heaven.
Then the woman barrels through the air like a grenade, crashing unceremoniously to the ground with a thump, and Bucky thinks, yeah, no, not an angel.
(Or: Sam's got this thing that attracts her to dangerous things, and Bucky is a very dangerous thing.)

Tenna blinked, not expecting the question. “Oh! Uh, I suppose it depends… it’s, er…” He laughed awkwardly again, rubbing the back of his neck. “A bit of a sensitive area? So doing it myself can be difficult. It’s not all that complicated, though.”
“You don’t say.” Spamton’s eyes glinted, and he placed his empty glass on the table with a soft clink. “You know, Ant, I could help you out with it, if you’d like. You could say I’m… familiar with the CRT instruction manual.”
Tenna stiffened completely, hand frozen on the back of his neck. There was- there was no way Spamton was really suggesting that, was he? He must’ve misheard him.

The distant speakers buzz; a wayward blip of high-pitched feedback scrapes against his sensors. ”THE KING OF ONLY—” booms from the main stage, his recorded voice ringing over sharp, compacted brass. ”He’s GROOVY…”
Tenna hisses again, the voiceover reverberating in his case. He’s aware of the glitches in the tape, alright? He’s aware of them. They’re charming. They’re being dealt with. The glitches are all being dealt with; he’s dealing with one right now.

"Wow, you weren't kidding, huh? You really have been a good boy." His tone is light and airy, but the gleam in Spamton's eyes is unmissable. Tenna lets out a slight huff, flustered and irritated. I bet this is great for him, he thinks. He must feel so special, knowing he's the only one to see me like this.
Tenna's hand reaches over to wrap around Spamton's back, almost unconciously. It's a stupid gesture; Spamton normally never tolerates this kind of touch, but this time he leans into his grasp shakily, a lazy smile spreading across his face. It's... different now somehow.
Spamton runs his thumb along the edge of Tenna's face. "I have a few ideas, if you'd like to hear."
This is stupid. Things can still go back to normal if you put an end to whatever this is right now. Don't do it.
"I think..." Tenna starts, voice trembling slightly. "I think you should show me instead."

Tenna's supposed work dinner quickly gets out of hand. He has very complicated feelings about it.

“You know, I've been told I'm a [Top of the line!!] mechanic. Bet I could fix you up [faster than any other brand].”
For some reason his screen flushes even darker as he pauses, looking at Spamton, a little less drunk than him, a lot smaller…
Maintenance was always such a hassle, he never liked doing it himself. He prefers going to the mechanic, but for such a small issue like this that would be ridiculous (and ridiculously expensive.)
But… Spamton's from Cybercity! He has tech skills coming out the wazoo! Plus, the guy's so short he could probably just crawl right in and– well, that's maybe a little much, but his scale could definitely be useful…
“You've done maintenance before?”
“Oh, a [earn millions and millions!!] times! Some of the guys in cybercity– hell– I was practically performing surgery!!”
“Okay! Well! If you're sure!”

Bucky stood at the end of the dim hospital cafeteria. The green-ish lights that lined the ceiling lit it up oddly, almost dream like, and he felt unnaturally disconnected as he worked his bottom lip between his teeth. To his right side, a fish tank stood on an elaborately carved wooden table, right below a large mirror. Little yellow and white goldfish swam around in circles. Round and round, and Bucky felt a wave of dizziness wash over him for a moment. Gripping the edge of the wooden table with his flesh hand, he steadied himself, turning around so that he faced the mirror. He didn't dare blemish the beautiful wood with his left hand, so he stuck it in the pocket of his jacket.
In which Bucky Barnes catches a murderer, falls into long-forgotten habits, and learns that self-destruction is easier than healing.

Sam stands, right there in the building’s hallway, a dark plastic bag in his hand. His eyebrows rise as he takes in Bucky’s disheveled state, as well as the complete destruction the apartment is in. “Dude,” he starts and Bucky scowls, stepping aside, making way for Sam to step into his apartment.
“Shut up.” He closes the door behind Sam, then promptly sticks his right hand into his pocket again, eyes skittering over the despondent state of his living room before he realizes what he is doing, and gives Sam a withering look. “Not a word.”
Sam sucks on his teeth, studying Bucky carefully for what seems like forever, before deciding on something Bucky isn’t privy to and grinning, raising the plastic bag he is carrying so that it is level with Bucky’s face. “I brought cat treats.”
The one in which Bucky Barnes partakes in illegal activities, gets his hair cut, and has a terrible day. In that order.
