“You really want to know?” Kate still wasn’t entirely sure why Yelena was even here, much less asking questions like that.
“Yes,” Yelena said simply. “I do not ask questions I do not want the answers to, Kate.”
“Right, of course, yeah.” Kate finished her drink in a sip that in any other context would have been far too big. But she didn’t have nearly enough alcohol in her system for this conversation. She fiddled with the glass, avoiding looking at Yelena.
