"I would like to marry," Penelope said bluntly. She looked him directly in the eye, daring him to disagree.
"Right." Colin gave a slow nod of the head, clearly taken aback by the declaration. His eyes had gone wide, giving him a look that was reminiscent of cornered prey.
It seemed that the heavens were intent upon tormenting her.
"Not you," she managed to say evenly, although she felt tumultuous waves rocking the boat that was her composure.
"No, of course not," he agreed hastily, embarrassment evident on his face.

This is my idea for how a Polin-centered Season 3 could work, adapting the book as much as possible. Expect both very romantic Colin, self-denying Penelope, and supportive Bridgertons.
