Vanitas learns the interior of the room by heart, exploring every inch of it in an attempt to not go crazy from boredom. He takes to watching the doors from a perch atop Ventus’ throne.
He’s not fully expecting anything to happen, but... something tells him that one day, someone is going to come through those doors.
He wonders how long it’s been.
He hoped Ventus’ friends come to get him soon. Maybe he can slip out then, get out of this monotonous place.
Surely they mean to come fetch Ventus.

He knew what was coming. He knew. He’d known, since the moment he’d taken out his eye (Really, an eye? To see into the future? How that had been the actual process still astounded him), but he’d kept himself from looking at the specifics until now.
It would happen, though, no matter if he looked or not. There wasn’t even a question of whether or not he would – in that moment that had granted him an initial impression of what was to come, he had known that he would record it, and to record it, he would have had to – will have to see it first.
It still wasn’t a pleasant thought.The Master had been delaying the inevitable.

When Yoo Joonghyuk reunites with Kim Dokja in the 73rd Demon Realm, he has several orders of business: make Kim Dokja regret his actions from the tenth scenario, make Kim Dokja address his Fate from the tenth scenario, and make Kim Dokja agree to an imprint so that the likes of the tenth scenario cannot happen again.
Kim Dokja, very objectively and of sound mind, thinks that this is a bit ridiculous. An imprint between them - two alphas that hardly ever see eye to eye on anything outside of the very basics of survival - is unthinkable.
(Of course, this is ignoring the fact that Kim Dokja himself had formed a one-sided imprint on Yoo Joonghyuk a long, long time ago.)

He is not going to last this cycle. A thousand cycles ago he had to drape himself in an old cloak taken from the ruins of Aidonia to hide the worst of the damage he has done to himself. A hundred cycles ago he shattered Dawnmaker, and has not had the capability to forge it anew. Fifty cycles ago he picked up a set of armor from the ruins of Castrum Kremnos to hide the state of his face. Forty nine cycles ago he gave up convincing Aglaea and Cerydra and Tribios on who he was under the armor and cloak and fell back to the only plan he had left, the one he knew would always work.
Last cycle, the Lance of Fury almost tore his body into pieces before he could take the final coreflame.
And so now he is here, following the young version of himself. They are close to the end, just before the mission to Styxia and a few months before the final advance on Aquila that heralds the death of light, of hope, of everything. But he is not going to last this cycle.
Not unless he tells this Phainon, this Khaslana, everything.

“Uh,” he said, because clearly his eloquence had abandoned him during one of the cycles, “yes?”
// OR, circumstance leads to the heirs thinking Phainon only lived through thirty-three cycles. Rather than correcting them on this, Phainon doubles down and decides this is the new narrative he'll go along with so as to avoid worrying them too much.
