Summary
All Force sensitives are born with wings, and they grow in primaries for anyone they closely bond with. The Jedi see it as a sign of attachment, something Anakin struggles to deal with after coming to the Temple. It’s even harder to fit in as a Jedi when his wings are a visible reminder to everyone of what a failure he is to the Jedi way.

Obi-wan sighs, “Anakin…”
It’s not the put upon sigh she would have imagined after listening to Anakin’s rants. It’s soft, reverent almost, and Padmé can feel the emotion pouring through the words.
Anakin looks up at him slowly. “Will you do it?”
The shock crosses his face for only a moment before he nods. Once, then twice, and moves over to sit on the couch beside his padawan, picking up the mirror and cords that hold the braid in place. “Always.”

Jango nodded. It would not change much in his life. As long as he minded his own business, they would have no problems.Except that OBVIOUSLY he did not mind his own business, and OBVIOUSLY it became Jango's problem.

Summary
Mace has known Obi-Wan his entire life (creche duty was a popular punishment for one Padawan Windu). He’s seen Obi-Wan develop some of the most intricate shields he’s ever seen or touched on a Jedi. The man experiences flashes of intense emotion, processes them, then releases them to the Force like it’s nothing (rather than a skill of near-fanatical study and practice). His shields are like durasteel, impenetrable to all those who seek his knowledge through violence. There are, however, kind pathways for those he’s chosen to let in.
The shields covering Obi-Wan now are decidedly not his normal shields.

"Sorry," Obi Wan muttered, rolling over to lay on his side, facing Anakin. His eyes were fluttering shut again; one hand cradled his side, the other gripped Anakin's tightly, a clear sign of the pain he was in.
"Obi Wan," he warned softly, softer than he'd been in a long time. "Please be careful. You're still healing. It's going to take a while, not just a few days."
