An old married Spirk fic written for the K/S Valentine Calendar. This story actually started and evolved from this anonymous writing prompt on tumblr: "Old Married Spirk where Jim teaches classes at Starfleet and Spock is an ambassador. Spock goes to visit Jim in his office and finds a student with a bit of a teacher kink being a bit too forward with Jim. Spock finds a streak of possessiveness he didn't know he had."

With the captain out of commission on a regular basis and Spock struggling to preserve his stoicism, staying alive is difficult enough – but when a slim chance for escape surfaces, their resolve is truly put to the test. Together they must fight for survival in the heart of an alien jungle, and in the process, uncover the mystery of the planet’s past. Slow build K/S.

Summary
The Enterprise comes across a mysterious planet with a series of caves that manifest copies of loved ones. These copies are taken from a person’s mind to allow them to confront and heal the turmoil in their heart.
The copies are perfect replicas in every way, including their memories and personalities.
But Jim is shocked when a copy of Spock shows up professing love for him and while he had never considered falling in love with his first officer, this copy allows him to explore the possibility. The real Spock would never have to know.
The copy’s touch is electric and his body is warm and inviting, there’s just one problem, Jim doesn’t realize, it’s not a copy.
