Summary
Sometimes, Stiles thought about telling him. It wasn’t even a thought, but a fantasy of him kissing Derek first thing in the morning and kissing him goodnight, of not going into separate bedrooms after a tiring day. He dreamed of making that one step further and putting not only his chin on Derek’s shoulder when the wolf cooked breakfast, but his hands around Derek’s waist, dreamed of taking his hand and threading their fingers, dreamed of kisses and sex and shared life.
It wasn’t this young puppy love. It wasn’t lust, though it was there. It was a years-long, deep, chronic ache. Bittersweet. Overwhelming. Sometimes, it didn’t let Stiles breathe, and other times it was the only thing that made him do it.
Stiles’ confession would destroy them, but not Derek. Because Derek would get up and lift his chin again.
If the alpha was brave enough to cover Stiles’ body from an imminent threat, then maybe it was time for Stiles to get brave, as well. The wounds may never close, but if Derek rejected him… it wouldn’t matter.
Nothing ever would.

Ben’s gaze darted toward the street again. “Why’s that?” Ben asked, tone not-quite conversational. He sounded exhausted, Myles noted, even with only two words to judge and Myles could hear the strange slowness to the words that came when a person was struggling to string a sentence together.

Obi-Wan and Cody have been through a lot these past few months. Between the war, Palpatine’s reveal, Anakin leaving the Order, and Ahsoka becoming Obi-Wan’s Padawan, he hasn’t had much time to think of his future with Cody and what that looks like. But now that things are starting to calm down and a sense of normalcy is returning, Obi-Wan’s mind it drawn more and more to the future and what that looks like for the both of them.
At the end of the day, there was only ever one path forward for him to take. Luckily, Cody agrees. And now, it’s time for them to plan their wedding. They ran a war successfully. How hard could planning a wedding be?
Does anyone know the difference between snow white and eggshell white and why it matters for cloth napkins? No?
Alright, this might be a little harder than a war.

After dinner, they decide to take a family walk down to the beach. The sun is setting, and bright oranges and pinks illuminate the sky, lighting up the water like a pastel painting. Oliver runs into the waves in his clothes, and Irina yells at him from Shane’s arms where she’s happily planted. At two she’s adventurous, maybe too much so, and Shane isn’t sure he can handle two wet children before bedtime.
Irina wiggles and whines enough, though, and before he knows it her little fingers are curled around his and she’s skipping through the wake, soaking both Shane and herself in salty spray. Ilya chuckles from where he stands close to them, phone out to take pictures, as Shane grins over at him.
